COMBINED VP-60/VP-90 REUNION

Hello to all our squadron mates from VP60 and VP90. I’ll bet you all thought we forgot about holding the reunion – well we didn’t! The combined VP60/VP90 50th (close enough) Anniversary Reunion will be held in Pensacola, FL starting on Thursday, 31 March 2022 until Sunday, 3 April 2022. Here is what we have planned along with the costs.

Thursday

Check in to hotels:

We have a block of 50 rooms being reserved at the Rodeway Inn (formerly Ashton Inn & Suites) located at 910 North Navy Blvd just outside the main gate of NAS. These rooms are $105/night (tax included) and have 2 queen beds with kitchenette. Contact Rodeway Inn at (850) 455-4561 and tell them you are with the VP60/VP90 reunion group.

We also have a block of 40 rooms being reserved at the Gateway Inn & Suites onboard NAS Pensacola. These rooms are $89/night and have 1 full size bed, microwave and refrigerator. Call NAS Pensacola Navy Gateway Inn and Suites Reservations at (850) 452-2756. Reference VP60/90 Reunion Group. Group Number is 30760110423. They would like to have the group number when making reservations.
Please be advised that due to the COVID protocols, these reservations are subject to cancellation.

We are also working on getting a block of rooms at the Navy Lodge onboard NAS but at this time we do not have a commitment from them. If rooms become available we will let everyone know and you can make your own arrangements to cancel and rebook. You can also try and make reservations on your own by calling Navy Lodge at (850) 456-8676.

For those who are planning on bringing an RV, there are 2 Navy RV parks – Oak Grove (across from the museum) and Blue Angel RV Park (west of the base off of US Hwy 98 west). These fill up fast so I would recommend you reserve now. These are also reserved through Navy Gateway Reservations.

Since this is a combined reunion and rooms are at a premium for these rates IT IS ADVISABLE TO MAKE YOUR LODGING RESERVATIONS AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE but NLT 1 March 2022.

We will be having a ‘Meet and Greet” at the CPO club across the street from the museum, from 4-7 PM. We will have a keg set up and there will also be a cash bar. Additionally, it will be catered by world famous (ok, Pensacola famous) Sonny’s BBQ for a great BBQ meal. Cost is $15/per person.

Friday

Golf Outing with Tee times starting at 9:00 AM at the NAS golf course. This will be a “best ball” tournament with teams consisting of 1 player from VP60 and 1 player from VP90 (provided we have equal numbers). Two teams per tee time. An impartial party will select names from two hats to pair up teams. This will be a good way to get to know your sister squadron mate better in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Plan to be at the golf course by 8:00 am so we can get the teams together and hit some range balls. Cost for this event is $33 which includes greens fees, cart and range balls.

P-8 tour. For those interested, VP?? from NAS Jacksonville will be hosting tours of the new P-8A Poseidon. Tours for our group will run 1400-1600.

Dinner at the Golf Course Clubhouse 5-10 PM. During this time we will honor those who served with VP60 and VP90 who have since passed away. This is a buffet style meal and since this is also the First day of Lent it will include a Fish entree. Buffet will commence at 6:30. Cash bar. Cost is $41/per person.
