Hello to all you fellow Cobras. We are in the final stages of preparing for the reunion and have the registration forms ready for all to download, make your selections of events and send your funds to our committee treasurer, Jim Leffelman. The planned schedule of events is as follows:
Thursday July 25
1600-1900 Meet and Greet being held at the American Legion Post 771, 749 Milwaukee Ave, Gurnee, Il. Cost is $15 per person which includes burgers and fries and an assortment of other snacks. It will be a cash bar with domestic beers at $3.50 and import beers at $4.50, mixed drinks ranging from about $4 to $7, and wine will be available, cost TBD.
Friday July 26
0730-???? Battle Station Tour at RTC – Free
0900-1200 American Sailor Museum tour onboard the Great Lakes Naval Station – Free, attend at your own convenience
1300-1700 Pig Roast at the Beach House at Nunn Beach onboard the base – $25 per person. Menu includes roast pig, BBQ chicken, baked beans, corn on the cob, potato salad, and cole slaw. Canned beer, wine, sodas, and water will be provided.
Saturday July 27
0900-1300 Golf outing, cost and location TBD due to Great Lakes golf course not open as of this newsletter. Cost will be greens fees, cart rental and additional donations for prizes.
1130-1600 Hangar One NAS Glenview Museum tour – Free, attend at your own convenience.
1800-2100 Reunion dinner at American Legion Post 771 in Gurnee, IL. Cost $30 per person. Menu is on registration form.
1800-1900 Cocktail hour with cash bar with dinner served approx 1930. Scheduled guest speaker is RDML Craig Mattingly, Commander Naval Service Training Command.
Sunday July 28
0900-1100 Farewell breakfast. Location TBD due to golf course opening delay. Cost will be individual meal costs.
